Ibelieve all countries have the obligation to reduce the consumption of fossilfuels, although the actual conditions of some countries need to be considered.　　As a result ofburning fossil fuels, greenhouse gases are emitted to the atmosphere, leadingto global warming and rising sea levels. Homes at low land levels may beflooded. Meanwhile, air pollution is becoming increasingly serious becauseusing oil and gas produces large quantities of pollutants. With the livingenvironment of mankind threatened and people’s health damaged, it is urgent totake action to cut down the consumption of fossil fuels.　　It takes theconcerted effort of all countries to fulfill this task. Developed andindustrialized countries own most vehicles and factories, while underdevelopedcountries consume a huge amount of energy due to their large populations andlow efficiency of energy utilization. If some countries were not involved inthe global action of reducing the use of fossil fuels, the effort of a fewcountries would not achieve the desired results.　　However, forsome countries that rely heavily on fossil fuels, the reductions in oil and gasconsumption may slow down economic growth and affect people’s living standard.Therefore, it seems unfeasible for these countries to take immediate action andkeep up with other countries.
